We need to discuss Christmas Movies

Hey Darlings,

Tis Christmas time in case you have been missing the living hell that has been the UK high streets this past Month. Which, as a matter of fact, I have, as I do most of my Christmas shopping online. Yes, it’s true that whilst avoiding the carnage of people bare-knuckle fist fighting over a Primark Hogwarts bathrobe, I prefer to sit in my slippers with wine and watch films.

original

Now, I’ll be to the point. We all know that the “Muppets Christmas Carol” is the greatest Christmas film ever created. No ifs, no buts. Michael Caine playing a deadpan Scrooge whilst a bright green frog/pig hybrid* sings about finding love in the same shot, arm in arm with a talking rat? A masterpiece.

Sometimes, I do watch other Christmas films, and here are my 10 must watches if you have to watch something OTHER than “Muppets Christmas Carol” this season.

Nightmare before Christmas

Halloween being my favorite time of year, and Christmas maybe not quite so much meant that this film was an instant shoe-in with me. A film I can watch all year round but any excuse to put it on and I will. Therefore, it’s become one the first I pull out to get me in the mood, once the dark nights begin to crawl in. It also has an amazing soundtrack…gah, I could gush about it all day!

White Christmas

Now, this film is close to my heart as I watch it with my mother and sibling every year. If you haven’t seen it, please do. It’s a Golden Hollywood Classic and some of the amazing dance numbers will be familiar to you from GIFs everywhere. You also get treated to the beautiful Bing crosby singing “White Christmas”…If the below GIF doesn’t convince you to watch its camp, fabulousness, I don’t know who you are anymore!

Scrooged

Jumping from one extreme to another with the hilariously dark comedy “Scrooged”, starring Billy Murry as a modern-day Scrooge who works in Television – nuff said.. Well worth a watch if you want something funny yet familiar.

Love actually

I live in London and know for a fact that the London presented in the film isn’t real but ohhh, I wish it was. We all live in the hope that we will suddenly wake up in a Richard Curtis film where suddenly the class divide will disapper, house prices become reasonable and Great bloody Britain rises as bumbling, adorable floppy-haired, posh men-children are allowed to mumble through the streets of London again, wooing fair ladies. Admit it.

love actually GIF

Home Alone

I loved watching this every year with my sister and then torturing my parents with screams of “Kevin!” for the rest of the night. Oh, how we laughed.

Home Alone Kevin GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

Edward Scissorhands

The soundtrack alone gives me shivers but the dance scene in the snow is just heartbreakingly beautiful. Put simply, Tim Burton’s classic is a must-see. I’m not crying, you’re crying.

Santa Claus the Movie

It happens to feature one of the greatest “movie Santas” of all time in it and Dudley Moore stars as a strangely attractive elf. Not the “sexy Legolas” attractive elf type but, the “creepy but kinda going with it” attractive elf type. I’m a sucker for a heavy brow.

Santa-Claus

Full disclosure: I adore the opening of this film and then once it jumps to the future, I couldn’t give a shit. Therefore, just watch the beginning and enjoy the feels, perv on the elf and be done with it.

Batman Returns

Fuck off, it is a Christmas film. This is my blog and I can do what I want. Look at the gif, that is snow and lights which makes it’s Christmassy. I know, I know, another Tim Burton on the list. I have a problem or taste**, you decide.

Batman Returns GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

The Snowman

It opens with David Bowie going through his old drawers ( he could go through my old drawers any day) and has a cracking sequence with a choirboy and a flying snowman. At least that is how I remember it. I usually just find myself astounded that it appears to be made solely out of pencil crayon drawings (Usually, I watch half cut by this point)

Frozen

I first watched this with my sister and it has become an instant staple in our household. I’m the Anna before you ask. May you all find your inner sassy Elsa, this Christmas. Sing it with me people, as your relative drops another casual politically horrifying comment across the dinner table, “Let it go!”

So what do you guys think of my list? What have I missed out that is a must-have in your household at this time of year? I am always seeking recommendations but I stand by my entire list!

Why Don’t I own this?

Hello Darlings,

Tis the season for consumerism, but when your budget is a bitch and refuses to allow you buy the things that you deserve, then one has to resort to lamenting this fact in a blog post. So here.We.Are.

In my lementing, I have conjured up this list of fine items that I would love to splurge on if the money fairy decided to appear (my door is always open to her) I am feeling classically British this winter, which may reflect a lot on this “dream” list. I mean, if you’re going to invest the money, do it in timeless things……Or ultra-modern digital accessories. What can I say? I’m a very nuanced person. It’s a curse.

The Phone Case

By the Brand Chaos, made up of a super styling team Kathrine Lyall and Charlotte Stockdale. I’ve had the pleasure to meet these ladies very briefly in a former role and they are just as fabulous as you’d imagine and full of amazing anecdotes. I have featured this case in its original design before on my Instagram, but my heart has officially been taken by the newest member of the “ugh!” family. Metallic pink and black. I need this in my life. I also need a phone that one of these cases would actually fit in after dropping my latest upgrade down the sink but that is a different story.

Chaos_Blush_Ugh_Leather_iPhone_Case_Front_78P

I long to whisper sweet nothings in-to you.

The Coat

Thanks to the magic of social media, I am now obsessed with Shrimps. Especially, their sexy ass coats. This is my favourite this season but I am also on a quest to obtain one of their stunning faux fur designs too. I recently queued in line for ages to get excess to their sample sale but alas, the one I was looking for avoided me….but it will be mine. Oh yes, I will own these coats dammit.

stuart-red-front

I want you wrapped around me.

The Dresses

I couldn’t choose just one dress, and also, I am dreaming! So, in my pretend world I change twice a day like an old-fashioned Victorian lady. Like an old Victorian lady who wears Alice Olivia Ruffles in the day and Ulla Johson Ruffles by night. An old Victorian lady who knows what she wants, which after finishing this post is, a nap.

BOOTS

Beholdeth these Valentino ankle boots. Everything about these boots is fabulous. They come in various colours as well, which is unfair when you think about it, as now you have to have them all.

The Lady Mary Jacket

I have been in love with this style forever. I am one of those people who secretly sits and hopes that tophats will unexpectedly make a mainstream comeback and ruffled skirts will engulf the streets. Until then, I will have to settle for riding jackets and all the tweed the UK can throw at me.

lady mary

Just casually popping to Greggs.

Here endeth the journey, for now. Ah, that was a lovely journey, wasn’t it? After scrolling the internet for a few of my favourite pieces, I’m really interested to know what everyone’s favourite themes or key items are for Winter. I appear to be a lot more old school than I realised! Before I go, BIG thanks for the social love on my last post, it made me feel all lovely inside <3 <3

If you don’t follow me already just follow the links on the sidebar to do so. DO THIS FOR ME, JANET!

Until next time, my darlings!

Internet Titbits

Hello Darlings,

This weekend, I have mainly been working on a super long list of contacts for a project due Monday. I have officially become spreadsheet blind. I am dreaming in columns. As the task was time sensitive, I made to sure to leave enough spare moments for time wasting in my schedule as I know who I am. The best part of working on the internet is the random stuff that you find whilst casually doing your day to day job, this means I am never wanting for things to browse as my “read later” list is extensive. Here are some of the things I found on the internet during my breaks that kept me sane whilst I gently wept over my keyboard in between breaks.

The fact that there is a Moomin Theme Park.

Image result for moomin theme park

I shit you not. All your childhood dreams have come true and you can actually travel to Finland and visit Moomin valley. Moomin World  is Located in the island of Kailo beside the old town of Naantali, near the city of Turku in Southwest Finland. I mean, LOOK AT IT. It’s marvelous. How happy do they look in that picture? And whats that, they have a replica of the actual Moomin house? My inner ten-year-old self cannot contain herself. I’m adding meeting one of my fashion icons – “Little My” onto my bucket list immediately.

If anyone knows where I would be bale to stream this show, I would love you forever.

The woman engaged to a chandelier.

I love this story far too much. Sometimes a story just casually pops up into your news feed when you’re feeling blue and you have no idea whats going to happen when you click the link. All that you do know is that it won’t be boring. This was that story this of the week for me. To summarise, this fabulous creature has decided “screw men, this is exhausting” and set up house with a cornucopia of chandeliers, one of which she is engaged to.

Woman with sexual attraction to objects proposes to chandelier

The woman, Amanda, seems sincerely happy with Lumiere, her fiance – so good for her enjoying her polyamorous relationship with not just any old lamp, but instead, with the Liberace of lighting options.Way to go extra, Amanda, I applaud you.

Pauline Boty

We all do that thing where we spot an image (pictured below) and it captures us and it leads you on a random adventure. Well, that was my story this week with Pauline Boty. She had been on my mind ever since I first saw her picture at the V&A “So you want a revolution exhibition” (Fabulous event – I really want a youthquake!) and I found myself researching her more.

Image result for pauline boty

With the recent death of the Cristine Keeler, this painting she made during that period was brought up in a feed of mine and I was drawn back into a Wikipedia whirlpool trying to find futher information about her. So much so, I am currently working on a post about her. Very fascinating woman.

Bubblebees

Literally digital crack, I discovered this game back in sixth form and haven’t been able to give it up since. The concept is simple, capture as many bees in bubbles (hence the snazzy name) within an allotted time as you can and try to beat your best score. Add a saccharine piano accomplishment to do it and et voila! The best way to waste a few hours of your life without feeling dirty afterwards… or something that will haunt your dreams. You decide.

There are loads of wonderful games on the Orisinal website, so I highly recommend giving it some time on a rainy Sunday..on that note:

The fact that it is snowing. I was having a wonderful Sunday Morning until I woke up to find world coated in fresh snow. It’s all well and good when you can practice hygge in your onesie in your flat, surrounded by cats but something else completely when you have to get up and commute in it on Monday morning. Sometimes, I am too forward thinking for my own good but I can’t help feeling glum about the fact that it is winter. How do you guys make yourself feel better in the colder months? I need all the help I can get – my housemate has recommended whiskey in my tea, I do wonder….

Bunnypudding attends the guitarwrist charity launch night

Well hello there, my little coven!

My goodness, it has been a hectic week for Ms. Pudding. I’m sorry to be getting my posts out so late but between my day job and my other little adventures, it’s hard to find the time to write it all down…Those that follow me on social media may be aware of a few events I’ve recently as featured stories on my social channels (If you don’t follow me, you must! I’m hilarious) but I felt the below deserved its very own write up, so that I could share it with you all, as I think it has something for everyone. PR can make you jaded at times, so it’s lovely when you get involved with something that warms your heartstrings.

Speaking of strings….

theguitarwristEdit_01

David Parry/PA Wire

I had a great time at the fabulous launch night of the guitarwrist pop-up store on Carnaby Street. The event was opened by the always wonderful KT Tunstall, who got to cut the guitar string rather than a ribbon – I loved that extra little touch…and I think we can all agree that the name “The guitarwrist” is on point as well!

theguitarwristEdit_10

Over 150 international celebrated musicians and bands have donated strings to this project and a wide range of charities will benefit. The fabulous Emma Hedley designed the jewelry from a varied collection of artists such Chrissie Hynde to Pendulum. The full list of musicians is located on their site.  The best part of all is that 90% of all profits go to the charities involved. Now, I have been to many “charity” launches but this one is as legitimate as it can get – Well done the Guitarist team, being charitable never looked or felt so good.

The shop at 2 Newburgh Street, W1F 7RD will be open 7 days a week until the end of 31st January. So make sure to stop by if you’re in the area and you can follow the team over on their Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. #theguitairwrist. Prices start from as little as £40, so accessible for every music fan and perfect for Christmas presents and stocking fillers (I’ve already circulated my preferred pieces to my loved ones…mwahaha!) If you do drop by,  let me know, as I’d love to hear your thoughts but not to worry if you can’t as they have a swanky website for those who can’t visit Carnaby Street this Christmas season, so you can still get a unique little piece of your favourite artists memorabilia of your very own no matter where you are  – www.guitarwrist.com

I was invited to the event by the Queen of PR, Susie Howard, (Entitled as such, by myself!) whom I worked with on the David Bowie, Fame, Fashion, and Photography exhibition last year.  It was a great turn out, and I will make sure to include the guitarwrist party snaps in my “bunny about town” post, which is coming out over the weekend.

Anyway, I am about to pop out again into the cold and commute into Soho this evening.  I am not looking forward to it one bit as the temperature has certainly dropped the past few days. As a Nothern lass, I have shamefully become far too spoilt by this Southen weather! Let’s pray it doesn’t snow….surely, I am not alone in my winter weather loathing? The only upside to winter is the excuse to wear dazzling coats more often….*grumble grumble* until next time –

Pssssttt!…..I may very well be having a blogger evening next week at the Popup store…If you are interested in coming along, please let me know <3

Bunnypudding and the Summer Sabbatical

Et voila, She returns! The blogger that no one has missed. Except you, Mum, thanks for sticking with me. Anyho, the not-quite-self-imposed-but kinda-works-as-a “Summer sabbatical” is done. Summer is also done. Eurgh, where does the bloody time go? I’d only just managed to attend one free PT session in a valiant attempt to get my summer body sorted before summer is already bloody over. Proves my point, leave that shiz to instagram fitspo people and that one perfect girl in the office who we all know wakes up to bird song and has woodland animals help her get dressed. Let their 8 packs glisten in the sun. The rest of us should focus on retaining a fully maintained human body with a leaning toward emergency “winter body” settings if required. Winter is coming after all.

Why the blogging break? I just needed a bit of time away for the internet – I don’t mean cold turkey *shudders and clutches laptop close*

I work as a Digital PR and in marketing so the internet literally became my life and I needed to take a break from my 15.6  inch screen (I’m packing, yo!) in my spare time and go out into the world. Turns out going out into the world, whilst undoubtedly fun, can still be stumped by the siren call of a good book. So I have found I have managed to remove a few books from the top of my reading pile (albeit, adding more during that process, ahem) and I may have potentially eaten more cheese than one would consider sensible. Who that one person is, I don’t wanna know. They don’t sound like my kinda person.

This reading malarkey has really helped me get all inspired so hopefully, this will be the season of more positive changes, creative ones. I also intend on completing a digital book group project so I will reveal more about that little number soon, but recommendations for things to read, no matter how random they are, most welcomed!

Finally, I’m also in the process of quitting smoking – which is easier said than done, trust me, and I chronicle (snort, replace “Chronicle” with “ramble on about”) my switching from smoking to vaping adventure over on the Vape AYR blog. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry and you’ll begin to contemplate sandwiches on a whole new level but I won’t give too many spoilers away!

Just a quick chat up but let’s catch up soon, yeah? I’ve miss ya’ll.

Beauty <3

Hello BBz,

I saw this and had to share it. It really touched my heart. I think those that have contacted me recently will understand the sentiment. We are all beautiful, fabulous creatures. Now please, fly my pretties and go get ’em!

I only made a muffaduking gif

Hello Darlings!,

Anyone who has been reading this blog for a while (Mwah! <3) will know that I adore a Gif. Love ’em…Want to marry them and set up a little farmstead with the cats, kinda love them. Therefore, you will understand my absolute delight, my sheer glee, at the thought that I have just made my very own Gif.

This may be one of the greatest moments of my life. I don’t care what you think. It’s on par with the time I had a perfect cup of tea in Sixth form. It was the perfect drinking temperature and it worth the bollocking I got in form when I was late – turns out “having the best cup of tea of your life” isn’t a good enough reason to be late for form, or the fact that it’s held in a room on the fourth floor, pft! I think we both know who was correct in that argument.

Now, excuse my gifs beauty (Anyone else a huge DragRace fan? – We so need to talk about this) ….I am happy to present my Gif. I can’t claim anything ownership of the images or people but I pasted some text over it because I am an artist and this is what creative people do on a Friday evening.

Et Voila!

You’re welcome.

If you want to make your own I recommend going to giphy and using their editor. It’s literally internet magic, or if you’re old enough, rather like a better version of Microsoft “paint”.

Now please, let me know what else you are getting up this weekend. I myself will be making more “Art”. Now fly, fly my pretties and throw digital shade with this beautiful gif:  http://gph.to/2qnY5Hu

Birthdays, ahoy!

So it’s been my Birthday this fortnight and I am of course dealing with this aging malarkey really well. My liver, not so much, but it needs to stop moaning. I am fortunate enough to have a group of very close gal pals living here in London from back home (Home being more of an “experience” rather than a “place” –  Stoke – on – Trent.) We love to make any excuse to go for piss-up and my Birthday was a perfect reason to pop a prosecco evening into the social calendar and this time as an extra treat, the Mothership also made an appearance. She drank us under the table. Like Mama, like daughter.

16402971_10154980447389282_3297314057019077950_o

Me and the gals. I appear to have shrunk in this picture.

It really is wonderful to have four people who know me better than anyone and therefore, have all my dirty secrets tucked away in mental files in their wonderfully complex brains under the category “Never reveal to anyone – she has too much dirt on you too” just a mini jaunt away. It’s good for the soul.

lolz

I can only hold my model pose for so long.

I share a Birthday week with one of my oldest partners in crime, so naturally, all five of us continued to spend the week celebrating, as of course two birthdays means double the effort is required socially.

This is fun and super fabulous as it happens but afterwards, I am left with the depressing thought that now the party is over, and sadly it’s now time for my annual “Let’s get healthy!” period.  Eugh! This is where I attempt to stop eating pies and drinking larger and try to find my inner fitness gurus (Yes Gurus, they have to tag team as it’s a hard job). Thus far, I have started hula hopping again in front of the TV. It’s all about strengthening your core after all.

Health kick in mind, I suppose it is for the best that Greggs wouldn’t give me a chicken bake for my Birthday, but remember kids, it’s aways worth asking!

If you want to enjoy more of my exciting social footprints, please feel free to socially stalk me. I’ve been told more than once that I give good social. I’m inclined to agree.

Actual footage of me at the gym.

I’m sure I am not the only one doing health kick, so I have to ask  – do any of you manage to stick it out – if so, how?! Seriously, I wanna know!

Ps. I also have some fabulous news which will be coming in my next post…but safe to say I had the best Birthday gift ever this year! Xx

Bunnypudding does Digital PR

Super quick update as I have a few long winded posts I will make live in the next week but I just wanted to share a few bits and bobs with you. Some of you may know that I work in digital marketing and digital PR. As it is a bit of a niche subject I go to the trouble of discussing what digital PR actually is over on the Drum website, because I like to teach people and most of all, I adore the sound of my own voice – even if it is just people reading the article in my voice.

s3-news-tmp-61194-harvest_digital_-_little_girl_wonder_woman_digital_pr-2x1-940

I also pop up one of their Vox pop discussions about how much control we should give influencers in our influencer marketing efforts. You know me, always available to give an opinion so I was happy to do it. Delightfully, the amount of messages I’ve received following this article has been fabulous, albeit mostly people asking me what hair dye I use.

s3-news-tmp-123315-vox_pop_3-2x1-940

I am a natural orange thank you very much.

Let me know your thoughts and questions below BBz as I adore feedback and it makes me feel special and important. If you need more of me in your life – and why the devil not? You can, of course, follow me socially on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and for more professional endeavours you can follow me here.

Love, Love BP.

Bunnypudding does exercise for charity

Hello BBz,

So I have decided that this year I will try to do more charitable things. I found that I had become someone who allowed myself to let “life get in the way” so often that I hadn’t actually done as much positive endeavours in my recent “life” as one would feel necessary. Unsure where to begin I started with the most instant thing I could think of – Sponsoring a little girl via https://plan-uk.org/sponsor-a-child

plan-international-logo

For £20 a month I get to sponsor a little girl called Anma and support her access to heath care and education. It literally took me 10 minutes to sign up and to be honest, I’d almost forgotten I’d done it when I received my welcome pack with a picture of her and information about her life. It was a very odd feeling and I highly recommend doing it if you have a few spare pounds. I received my first letter from her charity worker this week and I am looking forward to sending one back. A very happy letter correspondence indeed….oh there is a History, Ahoy! in that subject I think!

I’ve also made the mistake (big mistake, huge) of being overly confident and agreeing to suffer immensely take part in the Shelter Vertical Rush challenge on 9th March. This is also the day before my Birthday so I am hoping that rather than Birthday presents, I get a few sponsors to compensate for the fact that I am dreading it.

vertical-rush-logo

I am certainly going to have to start fundraising as its 4 weeks away, so any creative fundraising ideas are welcomed. I am willing to try anything once! Living in London you really do see homeless first hand and I walk post people sleeping on the street in Central London in tents every day. It breaks my heart that there are still situation like this in the country, but every little helps as you can see below. I just need to get myself down to the gym to exercise, otherwise I can imagine myself being carried up by the rest of my team (sorry in advance peeps!) 16426106_1074813472664199_4473458262739919456_n

Have any of you done anything charity related of late? If so I want to know, especially how you managed to keep going when it training….I am so weak when it comes to going to gym, Sob!

Love, love, always

Bp Xx
